QantasLink Fokker 100 · 100 seats
The Fokker 100 is being phased out of the QantasLink fleet. This Dutch-built regional jet carried 100 all-economy passengers and served regional Australia reliably for decades, but it's old, less fuel-efficient than modern alternatives, and offers fewer passenger amenities. If you're booked on one, the experience is basic: no seatback entertainment, limited cabin storage, and an older cabin interior. The E190 and Dash 8 Q400 are taking over its routes.
Rows 1-4 near the forward exit are the best option for comfort and quick deplaning. Window seats give decent views on regional approaches, where you're flying low enough to see the landscape. The front cabin has less engine noise from the rear-mounted jets.
Rows 25-36 at the back are noisy, cramped, and the last to deplane. The Fokker's age means the seats in the rear section show their wear. Wing rows 14-18 get structural vibration. If you have a choice of aircraft on your route, pick anything newer.
This Qantas Fokker 100 features 100 seats in a Economy configuration. Our analysis has identified 12 seats rated as "Best" or "Good" for comfort and convenience.
