This policy explains what we collect, the third-party tools we use to run and improve the site, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.
If you create an account, we store your email address and name. We also keep what you choose to submit: reviews of flights you have taken, seat maps you save, seat alerts you set, and anything you send us by email. Accounts are handled through our sign-in provider, by email and password or through Google or Apple.
When you visit, our analytics and error tools record standard technical information: the pages you view, the link that referred you, approximate location (country or region), your device and browser type, and your IP address. We use this to understand what gets used and to fix what breaks.
We rely on a few third-party services to run the site. Each one only sees what it needs to do its job:
We use two kinds of cookies: essential ones that keep you signed in, and analytics ones (from the tools above) that measure usage. You can clear or block cookies in your browser, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on. The site still works without them.
To run the site, fix bugs, improve which aircraft and seats we cover, send the seat alerts you set, and moderate reviews. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.
You can view, correct, or delete your account data — email privacy@seatmap.app and we will action it. You can stop seat alerts from your dashboard and block analytics in your browser. If you live somewhere with data-protection rights — the EU, the UK, California, Australia, and others — those rights apply, and the same email reaches us.
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We keep account data for as long as your account exists, and diagnostic data for a limited period. We do not sell or rent it to anyone.
SeatMap.app is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
We will update this page when our tools or practices change, and move the date at the top. For anything privacy-related, email privacy@seatmap.app.
