Four: First class in a private one-two-one suite layout, Business in one-two-one reverse-herringbone, Premium Economy in two-four-two, and Economy in three-three-three abreast. It is one of JAL's most premium long-haul configurations.

The three-three-three layout is nine-abreast — a touch wider per seat than you'd get in a ten-abreast configuration. That extra centimetre or two adds up on a twelve-hour sector. The Airbus cabin also runs at a lower pressure altitude than older widebodies, which tends to reduce fatigue.

Both are one-two-one, so direct aisle access is shared. First-class suites offer more floor area, greater height privacy with closing doors or dividers, and a dedicated premium dining service. Business is a reverse-herringbone flat bed — excellent, but without the enclosed suite experience of First.
