American Airlines 787-8 Dreamliner

The Flagship Business product — fully lie-flat, one-two-one, direct aisle access — is essentially the same across American's 787-8 and 777 fleets. The 787-8 Dreamliner cabin has its own advantages (higher pressure, larger windows), and the seats are from the same product generation. Service levels are consistent.

Three-three-three on the 787-8 gives noticeably wider economy seats than three-four-three on the 777 — a meaningful difference on a flight of eight or more hours. The Dreamliner also runs at higher cabin air pressure and humidity, which reduces the fatigue and dehydration that affect passengers on older widebodies.

Window seats in the outer columns on each side are the standard top picks in nine-abreast Economy — one neighbour, fuselage support, window control. Main Cabin Extra rows at the bulkhead or exit positions near the front of Economy add legroom without the Business fare. Avoid the last couple of rows before the rear galley on overnight sectors.
