Flagship Business is a fully lie-flat one-two-one reverse-herringbone layout with direct aisle access from every seat. It is American's flagship long-haul product — a well-regarded flat-bed with a dedicated Flagship lounge and enhanced service on select routes. Window columns are the most private; centre pairs suit couples flying together.

Main Cabin Extra sits at the front of the Economy section and offers extra legroom — a meaningful difference on transatlantic routes of eight or nine hours. It does not change the seat width, which remains the standard ten-across measure. Worth the premium if you value legroom over other upgrades.

The last few rows of Main Cabin sit adjacent to the rear galley and lavatories — expect noise, foot traffic, and occasional smells on a packed transatlantic flight. The four centre seats in the three-four-three layout (the middle group) are also the most hemmed-in positions; solo travellers are better served by the outer sections.
