The 787-10 cabin environment — lower effective altitude, better humidity and reduced cabin noise — is genuinely better than older widebodies for long flights. That said, nine-abreast three-three-three puts a lot of passengers into a relatively dense configuration, so the comfort advantage is partly about the aircraft and partly about your seat position. An aisle seat in three-three-three is meaningfully better than a centre seat.

Royal Laurel on the 787-10 uses a one-two-one reverse-herringbone layout, so every seat has direct aisle access and converts to a fully flat bed. Window seats in columns A and K are the most private; the centre pair at D and G alternate their facing direction by row. The smaller business cabin on the -10 compared to the 777-300ER means a quieter, less trafficked forward section.

In business class, the centre pairs (D and G columns) in the same row let travelling companions sit adjacent with direct aisle access for both. In economy three-three-three, the two window seats in the same row (A and K) are at opposite sides of the aircraft, so couples often take the two aisle seats on the outside of the outer triples — or the two window seats in the same three-seat block if they prefer proximity over aisle access.
