An all-economy single-aisle three-and-three. Pitch is uneven on this one — it varies row to row and even side to side — so the seat you pick matters more than usual. The exit rows are the clear standout.
The exit rows are the winners by a distance — far more legroom than the tightest rows, so book them the moment they open. After that, the left side runs a touch roomier than the right. The front rows are worth it if you need to be off quickly for a connection.
The right side of the rear half is properly cramped — tighter than most budget carriers — and the back third adds engine noise on top. On anything over 90 minutes you'll feel it. The over-wing rows also pick up more vibration in turbulence.
No — this configuration is all Economy. There is no Business cabin or paid-upgrade option on this variant, so the full focus should go on choosing the best available Economy seat.
Exit rows and the bulkhead row at the front of the cabin offer the most space. Some of these can be reserved in advance for a fee or at no cost for higher-tier frequent flyers.
QantasLink uses the A320 on busier regional and domestic routes, often under two or three hours. On those sector lengths, seat selection is most important for travellers who value avoiding the middle seat or a rear-galley position.
